Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

An electronic wheel balancer — model 409 — from Repco Automotive Equipment (UK) Ltd. can be used for rectifying static and dynamic out-of-balance forces. It features a pneumatic pick-up and an all-transistor printed circuit.

It is made up of two units, a mobile cabinet and a pick-up. The mobile cabinet contains the electronic section, a stroboscopic flash light and a powerful 2 hp three-phase motor spinner which can be run in either direction. A foot brake operates on the spinner pulley and provision is made for storage of wheel weights and tools in compartments at the rear of the cabinet.

The pick-up is an air-bellows type which is connected via a plastics tube to the electronics section. Placing the pick-up in the correct position on the vehicle is facilitated by using the adjustable stand on which it is mounted.

When a signal is received from the pick-up and fed into the electronic circuit, the operator uses the stroboscopic light to obtain the out-of-balance posi in. At the same time the deee of unbalance is indicated on e meter.

Net weight of the balancer, eluding pick-up, is 1061b, hile the packaged weight and Ise dimensions are 1651b and lin. by 19in. by 29in. respeciely. Wheel weights of 1,oz to oz are available. For testing aavier commercial vehicles it is commended that an auxiliary 5 p spinner be employed.
