• A feasibility study of the use of the Boeing 747 to freight motorcars is being undertaken on behalf of Silcock and Coiling Ltd., of Dagenham, who claim to be the largest vehicle delivery organization in the UK.
The advent of the Boeing 747 freight aeroplane makes it possible, in the opinion of Mr. G. H. Calling, group managing director, to speed up the delivery programme of vehicles to the United States and also, by creating a new fast service co-ordinated by one organization, to simplify the complexity of the normal delivery routine.
The company is currently discussing the matter with the Boeing Aeroplane Company.
