• An order for 80 large capacity doubledeck buses has been placed with Daimler Transport Vehicles Ltd. by the Kowloon Motor Bus Co. (1933) Ltd., through Daimler's Hong Kong agents, Dodwell and Co. Ltd. The chassis, worth £330,000, will be of the front-engined Daimler CVG6LX type and will be fitted with forward entrance, central exit bodies built from components supplied by Metal Sections Ltd., of Oldbury.
Thirty of the buses will be similar to the extra-long Daimlers recently placed in service by the Kowloon company—the largest front-engined Daimlers ever built. They are of type CVG6LX-34 and have a wheelbase of 21ft 6in. and overall length of 34ft 7in. Designed to carry 117 passengers, they are . fitted with heavy-duty chassis side-members, spring and axle assemblies.
