Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

QUPPORT was given on Tuesday by s--) the long-distance hauliers' committee of the Road Haulage Association to a demand for legislation to permit the free interchange of drivers between licence holders. It came from the North Western (Eastern) • Area longdistance hauliers' committee.

The concession is desired particularly for shunt drivers. Under Section 1 of the 1933 Act, it is at present illegal to interchange drivers.

. The proposal will go to the national executive committee on November 27.

The loag-distance committee also discussed international road haulage, a rates guide specially for long-distance operators, the threat of renationalizadon and the forthcoming new edition of the long-distance hauliers' directory. No decisions were taken.

The next meeting will be. held on November 26.

These recommendations were presented to the Court of Common Council yesterday by the Spitalfields and Billingsgate and Leadenhall Markets Committees. There are two schemes for the establishment of an Islington market.
