rOLLOWING the success of the special packs of Spire Speed Nuts marketed by Stenor LW. the concern has extended the idea to include three new kits of Stenor fasteners.
Kit GFil contains over 850 fasteners including Nylon snapin nuts, edge-type clips, beading clips and trim-pad clips. A companion kit to the GF/1 is GF/2 which also contains over 850 items, these being for similar purposes. The third kit is the STSJ1 which contains over 1,200 self-tapping screws ranging from 0-375 in. by No. 4 to 0-75 in. by No. 10, there being nine sizes in all. Each size is supplied with slotted heads.and Philips recessed heads making a total of 18 different screw types.
There are also 18 different types in each of the two fastener kits and in all three cases the items are contained in plastics compartments. A contents card is fitted in the lid of the box and refills for every section are readily available.

Cutting Insert Recesses T0 sites of hand-operated boring tools for machining engine cylinder heads to take valve-seat inserts are being
marketed by E. F. Allchin and Co. Ltd. These are the RDS/I and RDS,P2 Valve Seat Insert Cutting Tools, the range of cutting diameters being from 20 to 52 mm. and 35 to 90 mm. respectively. The method of operation is to carry out a series of cuts starting from the inside of the original valve seat and cutting outwards until the pre-set diameter is reached. After completing one cut, the operation is repeated after lowering the cutter a small amount. Cuts arc continued until the required depth has been reached. The final job is to provide a clean vertical wall to the insert recess by using a fine feed for a vertical turning operation. An accuracy of 0.0005 in. is claimed on this final cut.

Price: RDS/I, £35 155.; RDS/2, £61 3s. Bulb Failure Warning ADEVICE which indicates to a driver the failure of a light bulb has been introduced by M.M. Accessories Ltd. This unit, which is said to be of simple construction, consists of a switch mounted in a double-wound induction coil and encased in a copper tube only 3 in. long.
Connection to the vehicle electrical system is made by wires leading from one end of the unit and all that is necessary to install the device is to connect the unit to the, feed wires of a pair of lamps---a separate indicator is required for each pair of -lamps. Other wires on the device lead to a warning lamp intended to be located on the vehicle dashboard and this lights up when one bulb in the pair to which the device is linked fails.
In addition to warning of bulb failure, the indicator can switch on an alternative lamp (such as a stop lamp) with the addition of three wires from a relay unit connected to the relevant points.

Assembly Time Saved ASYSTEM for the production of light-alloy flooring for commercial vehicles which. is said to save considerable time has been developed by Midland Extrusions Ltd. in association with Avdel Ltd.
Special floor plank extrusions made by Midland Extrusions Ltd. are used for the system. these being specially designed for attachment to cross hearers by means of Avdelok 0-25 in. bolts. Various widths of body are provided for by 3-in. and 7-in.-wide planks being available. and a special side rave is also offered.
