WHEN a contingent from the London VI' Fire Brigade and the London Ambulance Service leave to visit their opposite numbers in Italy in June, they will travel in a Dennis and a Merryweather fire-engine and a Daimler ambulance, all vehicles being of the latest type.
A particular point of interest concerning the ambulance is that it is the first of the Service to be radio-equipped. The fire-engines both have radio. The Dennis has a Rolls-Royce eightcylindered petrol engine, whilst the Merryweather is an oiler. Bayley escape ladders are fitted to4posh.
