The four-tonner was making heavy weather up a steep and greasy incline, and its slow progress encouraged a little boy to take a ride. Just as he hung on behind, the wheels failed to grip, and he had an unpleasantly prominent position in the catastrophe that followed. When he recovered consciousness the doctor was bending over him. "Please, sir," he quavered, "Don't let 'em wop me. I didn't mean to pull the wagon over."
