BUILDING UP THE BRIGHTON ROAD • Work starts soon on the 5.2km section of the A23 trunk road between Mill Lane, Sayers Common and London Road, Cottages to the south of Muddleswood, West Sussex.

This section forms a bypass of the Sayers Common and All)ourne villages and is the first stage of the planned A23 improvements between Warninglid and Brighton. It should take about 21 months to complete.

CURFEW ON M4 • The Department of Transport has announced night-time closures on parts of the M4 between junctions 1 and 3 to allow maintenance and improvements to closed-circuit television equipment.

The westbound carriageway will close on 15 March, and eastbound on 12, 13 and 14 March, in each case between 21:00-06:00hrs,
