• Foden Trucks' American parent company Paccar has announced record results for 1989; sales increased by 7% to £2 billion, and net income was up by more than 37% to £143 million.
In the UK, Foden truck sales rose by 10% which makes 1989 its best year for more than a decade.
LI Sales of General Motors light commercial vehicles rose by 13% to 95,800 units in Europe last year, helping boost the company's profits to a record £1.078 billion. By contrast, Ford Europe's operating profits fell by 17.5% to £772 million.
