Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• BRS NORTHERN will maintain 319 City of Bradford Metropolitan Council vehicles for five years under a 14.3 million contract.

The company is to lease the council's Shearbridge maintenance depot, which is near its Bradford branch, providing jobs for fitters, supervisors and administrative staff under a new contract manager.

Redeployment of council staff, coupled with BRS requirements, means it is unlikely thai any of the existing council workforce will he displaced, says the company.

The vehicles include light and heavy commercial vans, social service ambulances, refuse collection vehicles, gulley emptiers and sweepers.

This latest contract takes the company's local authority business to a total of .£12m gained in nine months.

BRS Northern was the only company to win one of four contracts placed by Bradford, the remainder being retained by the inhouse Direct Service Organisation. BRS Northern recently won contracts with Kirklees and Barrow councils together worth almost £7.5m. In addition, other BRS regional companies have won four other similar contracts.
