THE LONG promised 1.( litre petrol engine option fc the Austin Maestro van ha filially arrived, even thong there is still no firm date lb the launch of the diesel va: powered by the two-litre 0 diesel currently being de veloped with Perkins.
In addition to its four exist ing 1,300cc 500 and 700 L am City models, Austin Rover i now offering two nev I,6(X)cc variants — a 700 Cit■ van with a 63kW (85hp) high, compression S series 1.6-litri engine, and a 700 City with 59kW (79hp) low compres. sion 1,600cc unit.
Both the 1,600cc Macstrc vans will be priced at 6,89: plus VAT and will have five-speed gearbox as stan. dard.
Maestro vans also gain a revised interior for 1986 with an updated dashboard derived from the Montego car range.
