Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

issue to highlight the 1 question of commercial vehicle brakes. With the maximum speed increased to 40 m.p.h. and proposed higher loads braking has never been so important.

The discussion by braking experts confirmed my own feelings in many ways. A lot of nonsense is talked of the r16 need for high efficiencies. Between 50 and 60 per cent quite adequate for any vehicle and except on an ideal rot surface extremely high efficiences can be dangerous. Unle bodies are much stronger it is the load coming though ti cab that will be dangerous at over 70 per cent.

What is important is that the brakes should start sto ping the vehicle as soon as the pedal is pressed and th they should be balanced. More important still is that driver should drive according to the brakes he's got—n as he thinks they should be. The way some drivers ko right up to the lorry in front is frightening. Nothing earth would stop them if the fellow in front had to bra] quickly!
