• Driver Anthony Wedge from Gaywood in Norfolk escaped with minor injuries when his Daf 17-tormer loaded with planks crashed through the parapet on Dibble's Bridge in North Yorkshire and fell six metres.
The truck cab landed on a tractor beneath the parapet which may have protected Wedge against the impact, say the police.
Fourteen years ago 32 people died at the scene when a coach crashed through the parapet.
