Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The first production examples of Lawrence David's new Kerbsider Kt curtain-sided body kit for 3.5-tonners have gone into service with Hertz Van and Truck Rental, based in Feltham, Middlesex.

The bodies have been fitted -by Hertz to diesel-engined Ford Transit 190 chassis.

They are a new departure for Lawrence David. The company says they offer the advantage of three-side access with no weight penalties or cost premium over traditional van designs.

The kit allows dealers to offer immediate fitting from stock, tailored to any 3.5 tonne chassis.

The Kerbsider Kt has specifically designed new cantrail and side rave curtain tracks, and uses pleated Lawrence David ArmourSheet curtains in captive track, which the company claims offers the same load security as an aluminiumpanelled box van, and simplifies repair and livery changes.

Fred Stamp of Hertz believes the Kerbsider Kt is "a unique type of vehicle in this weight range on the hire market". He adds "There is a market for the three-side access, which this vehicle offers, from companies which do not wish to use a 7.5-tonne vehicle. It can be easily loaded with four pallets or long-piece goods such as rolls of carpet."
