• Lambson Cleveland has won a three-year wine and spirits distribution contract from North-eastern brewers W Cameron & Company, having handled its canned and bottled beer delivery for two years. Using 10 new Volkswagen LT 35 vans, from Cleveland Truck and Van Centre, Lambson delivers the wines and spirits to pubs, restaurants and nightclubs.
Dealers lose
• Though more than half of all commercial vehicle dealers reported increased turnover during the last three years, more than 12% showed losses in their last accounts, according to the latest ICC Financial Surveys report.
Bostrom builds
• Vehicle seating firm Bostrom has expanded its engineering division with the acquisition of GA Farndon Engineering, specialist producer of precisionengineered components.
Jones signs
• S Jones Truck Rental has signed its first local authority contract hire deal with Coventry City Engineers for two ERF ES6 17-tonne skip loaders for two years. The company is currently negotiating with a further 12 local authorities.
