• Walsall-based Integrated Tanker Services (Intank) has added 18 tankers to its fleet this year and plans to add another 15 by 1990, boosting its fleet up to 100.
Some of the new tankers are being contracted out to automotive finishers PPG, transporting paint from Birmingham to car plants in Europe on a one-year-minimum deal.
The others are being used by Wincanton on a 10-year contract, delivering milk and food products. LI Intank has ordered two 26,000 demountable tankers which can be used on road and rail and it plans to open a depot in the London-Grays area as a base for expansion into Europe.
