• The South Eastern Electricity Board has taken delivery of its first two Renault G-range rigid trucks to reinforce its distribution network.
The Renaults, which tow drawbar trailers, are used to distribute demountable containers full of electrical appliances from the central warehouse to SEEB's depots: The G290-17D 4x2 drawbar units are powered by MIDR 06.20.45 in-line turbocharged and charge-cooled engines which develop 214kW (291hp) of power at 2,100rpm, with an installed torque of 1,176Nm (8671bft) at 1,300rpm, and are fitted with nine-speed rangechange gearboxes.
