OPERATORS should enjoy a summer and autumn of dery price stability, the major oil companies told CM.
A spokesman from one company said: "I don't foresee anything dramatic happening to dery — but don't bank on that."
Esso, BP, Mobil and Shell tentatively agreed that operators could expect a period of stability over the summer and autumn, without bulk and pump prices shooting up as they did earlier this year.
But they all stressed that unexpected changes in the value of Sterling. Rotterdam spot prices, and demand and supply could shatter any predictions.
One oil company spokesman said that there could even be a slight fall in dery prices over the summer and autumn.
