RULES in force from today mean that new employees are prevented from lodging unfair dismissal claims with industrial tribunals until they have completed two years' service.
The changes (CM, April 27) do not apply where dismissal claims are on the grounds of trades union membership/non-membership, race or sex discrimation. In those cases, there is still no qualifying period. •
