Ma. C. T. GooncHico has been appointed works superintendent (Aldenham) of the London Transport Executive, and carries the rank of officer. He will report to the works manager (buses and coaches) and will be responsible for the general control of the Aldenham overhaul works.
Ma. Aux FRASER. vice-chairman and managing director of Girling, Ltd., and MR. J. W. KINCHIN left last Friday by air for America and Canada on an extended tour covering New York, Chicago, Buffalo, Toronto and Montreal. Their trip is connected with the expansion of Girling business.
MR. A. T. WILFORD, A.R.C.S., B.Sc., F.R.1.C., director of research to the London Transport Executive, has been appointed by the Minister of Fuel and Power to be a member of the Oil Consumer's Council. He will replace MR.

MR. C. B. WELLS, formerly manager . of K.P. Tyre Services, of Hull, has been appointed secretary to G.K. Tyre Services Tyre Management Committee. He is succeeded in his appointment at Hull by Ma. H. J. ROCK, who has been connected with the'. Tyresoles organization since 1945, and moved to Hull on the opening of the K.P. Tyre Services depot.
CLLR. C. A. LILLICRAP has been elected chairman of Lincoln Transport Committee, in succession to CLLR. JAMES A. Fox, who has held the post for 22 years. ClIr. Fox is secretary of the local branch of the National Association of Vehicle Builders. His replacement as chairman of the transport committee has caused keen local political controversy.
MR. JOHN H. LORD, an executive director of the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., has been elected president of the Federation of British Rubber Manufacturers' Associations. MR. ANGUS MACPHAIL, previously representative of the Dunlop road transport division in Glasgow, has succeeded the late Mr. John Black as manager of the general rubber goods division in Scotland. MR.
H. WILLSHAW, 0.B.E., M.1.Mech.E., Dunlop chief engineer, is now in Canada to advise on further developments, at the Toronto factory and will later visit the Dunlop works in Buffalo.

MAJOR H. H. PickiN, who has been connected with the manufacture of electric vehicles since 1930, has been appointed general manager of Midland Vehicles, Ltd.
MR. V H. F. 1-1010KiNs, M.I.MECH.E., has resigned his office with C.A.V., Ltd., to take up the appointment, at the beginning of June, of chief engineer to Marshall Sons and Co., Ltd., Gainsborough, and John Fowler and Co., Leeds.
MR. FRANK F. FOWLER was last week reappointed national chairman of the Road Haulage Association, MR.
R. G. CROWTHER, MR. R. H. FARMER arid MR. B. W1NTERBOTTONC were re-elected vice-chairmen, and MR. JAMES BARRIE was appointed a fourth vice-chairman in place of MR. JOHN STRANG who, because of ill health, has had to give up most of his public work.
MR. F. D. ARNEY, MR. J. W. S. BRANcKER, MR. C. T. BRUNNER, MR. S. KENNEDY, MR. H. A. SHORT, C.B.E., M.C., and Ma. P. J. R. TApP, C.B.E., have been elected vice-presidents of the Institute of Transport. They will take up office on October 1. As reported in "The Commercial Motor" last week, MR, A. B. B. VALENTINE is to be the next president of the Institute. Mr. Brunner' is director and joint general manager of Shell-Mex and B.P., Ltd., Mr. Kennedy is chairman of the Tilling Group management board and a parttime member of the Road Passenger Executive, and Mr. Tapp is chairman of the Meat Transport Organization, Ltd., and a part-time member of the Road Haulage Executive. The other vim-presidents represent the ports, airways and the railways.
