from October 2006 on all new vehicle registrations, truck engines will have to meet the Euro-4 emission standard. Compared with the original 'Euro-0 benchmark, nitrogen oxide (Nox) will be reduced by 65%; hydrocarbons (HC) by 73%: carbon monoxide (CO) by 81%; and particulate matter (soot) by 72%.
In 2008 Euro-5 will bring down the levels of these harmful diesel emissions even further.
