ABATCH of 10 Daimler Roadliner single-deck buses now entering service with the West Riding Automobile Co. Ltd. are being used for normal conductor services in town and country, but are laid out in a way which would permit one-man operation.
The 50-seat bodywork by Plaxton's has a step-free platform and central gangway throughout its length and is of composite construction. Air suspension is used for the chassis, which has the standard 9.63-litre Cummins V6 diesel engine at the rear.
Marble-patterned Melamine finish is used extensively in the interior, the floor covering is green Treadmaster and the Bamford tubular-frame seats have Dunlopillo cushions.
Six Auster top-sliding windows are fitted; there are two recirculatory saloon heaters and the doors are air-operated.
