ADECREASE in net profit, before taxation, of over £99,000 compared with the previous year was reported by Mr. R. P. Beddow, chairman of Southdown Motor Services Ltd. at the company's annual general meeting last week. Mr. Beddow regretted having to record a "bad year", which he blamed on heavy increases in labour costs, but added that strenuous efforts had been and were being made to achieve further economies in operation.
