A RECOMMENDATION has been made by
Belfast Corporation transport committee that the tender of Daimler Transport Vehicles Ltd. for 30 Flectline double-deck bus chassis be accepted. The tender of Potter's of Belfast Ltd. for 77-seat bodies to be fitted to these buses has also been accepted.
Belfast already operates 151 Daimler Fleetlines, all of which are fitted with bodies by MH Coachworks Ltd., the forerunners of Potter's of Belfast. Assembly of the 63 chassis of the last batch was undertaken in Belfast by MH Coachworks (CommERclat MOTOR, November 22, 1963).
Under the new contract the chassis will cost about £4,000 each and the bodies about £4,500.
