Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The most interesting of the Mann exhibits is certainly the new 6-ton undertype wagon, which, incidentally, was described in full in our issue dated June 17th, but for those who did not peruse this article we will enumerate the leading features. Perhaps the most striking is the high degree of accessibility, for the double high-pressure engine is mounted acrosa the frame so that its cylinder heads are at the near side and its crankcase at the other ; poppet valves are employed, and the drive to the camshaft is taken through a special coupling which permite relative motion between camshaft and gearing for the purpose of adjustment. Two changes are provided by the gearbox which is built • as a unit with the crankcase, and these, combined with two points of cut-off for the steam, give the effect of a four.speed gear. The final drive is via an open propeller shaft with enclosed joints to a double-reduction rear axle with a short radiu,s rod.

Another useful exhibit is the 6-ton overtype wagon built for Constable, Hart and Co. the road-making experts. This vehicle has a body specially insulated with an air. :pace between the steel plate a and an outside wood cover, so that * the tar macadam, which forms the load, is kept leVa7C11 during transit.

The chassis is the *standard one with loco-type boiler and side-firing arrangement, which permits control by one man.
