Successor to (and far better-looking than) the TGA, this is a stylish addition to a large number of UK fleets more likely attracted to the EGR engine than its chrome surround grille. Winner of the 2008 International Truck of the Year competition, the TGS offers Tipmatic automated transmission as standard and three cab trim variants L, M and LX. Cab comfort is improved over earlier models, while the torquey 020. Euro-5 engine is arguably the best in its class. MAN has recently done a lot of good work to improve its dealer network, which was previously of variable quality.
