Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Designed upon European lines, where tipper operations are different and weights are higher, the Actros is fettered by its unladen weight. This is, in part, a consequence of a heavy engine block and hub-reduction axles. The large, comfortable cab is liked by drivers, especially those on longer journeys, while the good ground clearance suits it to muckaway work, but a steel body will add more weight. For tipper work, the 16-speed transmission has too many ratios, a 12-gear spread would be better.

Well built, the Actros drives well and is easily up to its arduous task; options include a 6x6 gritter chassis. There's no doubt the Actros can do the job, but finding UK jobs to suit it isn't easy. With this sector likely to be hit by the recession, can this model survive?
