A niche product, introduced two years ago, the lighter of MAN's two UK tipper chassis overlaps with the heavier TGS at 26 tonnes. Although available with two or three axles, the 18-tonne tipper market in the UK is small and shrinking fast.
Utility firms are looking more to the 6x4, but may be usurped by hauliers favouring the payload opportunities of 8x4s.
TGM offers a seven-litre engine, Tipmatic (automated) or manual transmission and a modest-sized day cab, which is best suited to relatively local duties with utility services.
