Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

FORD MAZDA B-SERIES

The Ranger and B-Series are bracketed together because they both share the same basic design.

Unlike so many 1.0-tonne-or-thereabouts capacity pickups, the manual versions handle quite well, with an exemplary gear change shame about the umbrella handbrake. There is plenty of feedback through the steering and surprisingly little wallow when you punt them hard through corners. The ride is a different story, though, with the front suspension seeming to struggle with even moderately uneven road surfaces.

Off-road, the 3.0-litre is a star, with the extra dollop of torque it has on tap helping drivers power their way up steep inclines. Neither vehicle will go where a Land Rover Defender or an lveco Massif will go, but not everybody needs that capability.

If you want to make a statement, choose the lurid-looking

Ranger Wildtrak.

And if you have swallowed a brave pill, take to the highway in the wet with the 3.0-litre auto box...

It certainly gives new meaning to the phrase "tail happy".
