Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The Combo is showing its age now. and loses out against its newer competitors in a number of areas.

It is still worth considering given its well-designed diesel engines, sensibly-shaped 2.8m3 load area and its functional, but not luxurious, cockpit. Also, don't forget it is capable of shifting loads weighing upwards of 800kg depending on the version you order or that it can be specified with a semi-automatic gearbox.

While the less-powerful 75hp diesel engine is fine if all you are engaged in is round-town-stop-start delivery work, its beefier 100hp stable-mate is afar better bet if you do plenty of heavily laden long-distance runs. If that's your game, be prepared to put up with a lot of road noise and wind roar and a lack of feedback from the electric power steering.

It will be a little while yet before we see a successor to Combo; and whatever replaces it will apparently not be employing a Corsa front end.
