While nobody is going to pretend that Ford's Transit Connect is the most stylish van on the highway unless you see it in Sportvan guise -there is no denying it is a well-crafted workhorse.
It is solidly constructed build quality is top-notch -and the chassis is one of the most competent in the business. Add to that engines with plenty of power and torque on tap, and you have got all the makings of a winner.
What's more, it is a winner with two wheelbases, two cargo capacities, and a practical and-surprisingly-spacious cab.
Unfortunately, Connect is a tad or the heavy side. That has to be balanced against its durability, though, and the fact it will carry up to 900kg depending on the version you pick.
Just as nobody ever got shot for deciding to buy a Transit. no-one is likely to get shot for buying its smaller brother. Similar to the Transit, residual values usually do not disappoint.
