TASS, the Soviet news agency, has sent us this view of a (AZ 45408335 lorry, a new Georgia-built design for use on agricultural and long-distance transport operations in the USSR.

The lorries, built at Kutaisi's Sergo Orjonikidze Auto Works, are being tested for durability, and have two driven axles for negotiationg fields, mud roads, and for following combine harvesters.

KAZ is developing three versions of this model, principally an articulated model with 11.5 ton payload, a side-loading dump truck, and a platform lorry.

The Orjonikidze works has been re-equipped with a new engine assembling shop which handles an increased output of diesel engines.
