Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The Halifax Joint Omnibus committee and Hcbble Motor Services Ltd plan to amalgamate certain services from March 1, it was announced last week.

Under the merger, the HJOC, which is operated by Halifax Corporation and the National Bus Company, would take control of existing Hebble Services to Bingley, Rochdale. Burnley, Keighley, Queensbury, Wibsey. Leeds via Stanningley and Bradford via Shelf.

Two other services, Halifax to Leeds and Bradford to Manchester would be handed back to the Yorkshire Woollen District Transport Co Ltd. These services were taken over by Hebble a short time ago for administrative purposes. The general manager of the Joint Omnibus Committee, Mr Geoffrey Hilditch, stated that before such a merger could take place the Halifax borough council would have to agree to the proposal on January 6.

He said: "Subject to the agreement of the council to the proposals which have been put forward by both sides the HJOC /Halifax proposals will be implemented. This will provide for the greater part of the existing Hebble Stage carriage business being merged with that of the HJOC. In this event a number of services and certain vehicles would be transferred, subject to the sanction of the Traffic Commissioners."
