• Fareboxes are to replace self service ticket machines and turnstiles on standee single-deck buses on a number of suburban flat fare routes from Sunday January 10, London Transport announced last week. This development follows the successful employment of fare boxes on a number of o-m-o flat fare double-deckers operating in South London.
The services involved are MI, HI, Si, 52, PI, P2. and W8, operating in South London, East London, Rotherhithe and Walthamstow areas, with a minimum fare of 9d (adult), together with the Al Airport Express service from Hounslow West Station to London Airport (flat fare Is).
