Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Arrangements have been made under which drivers in the Royal Corps of Engineers, when they are due to leave the Army, can be put in touch with members of the Road Haulage Association requiring drivers with the appropriate qualification.

A pilot scheme run jointly by the Royal Corps of Transport and the RHA has met with considerable success. During the five months since it was inaugurated in August 1970 applications have been received from 100 drivers and in nearly every case a suitable employer has already been found.

As part of their training Army drivers are able to take the test for the various grades of the hgv driving licence and further scope for training is available during resettlement courses. It is hoped that in due course the scheme in which the RCE and the Rd T are now co-operating with the RHA will be extended to the other armed services.
