Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The diverse activities of Pickfords Ltd, embracing household removals and storage, the transportation of heavy loads and the bulk haulage of liquids and gases, will be operated by three separate companies from today January 1. A fourth company will provide common services for the other three.

The companies will be Pickfords Removals Ltd, Pickfords Heavy Haulage Ltd, • Pickfords Tank Haulage Ltd and Pickfords Management Services Ltd.

Mr. Harold Elliott, who is retiring as managing director of Pickfords Ltd on December 31, (see page 29) will be part-time chairman of all four companies.

Pickfords Removals Ltd, with 180 branches chiefly engaged on household removals, will have its head office at 102, Blackstock Road, Finsbury Park, London N4. The managing director will be Mr. G. J. Skelton, formerly general manager, Pickfords Ltd.

Pickfords Heavy Haulage Ltd will be located from about mid-January at Great Cambridge Road, Enfield, Middlesex. Managing director will be Mr W. Partington, formerly chief heavy haulage manager.

Pickfords Tank Haulage Ltd, will be located at 205 High Holborn, London WC 1. Managing director is Mr. H.H.C. Reed.

Computer services, data processing, work study and 0 & M will be provided for the operating companies by Pickfords Management Services Ltd, which will be at Great Cambridge Road, Enfield, Middx. The managing director will be Mr. S. F. B. Heywood who will also be a director of the three operating companies.
