Two 10-ton refrigerated outfits have been evolved by Mr. C. Bell, technical director of Smedley's, Ltd., in conjunction with L. F. Dove (C.V.), Ltd., Croydon, for the collection and delivery of frozen foods. The tractors are Austin 7-tonners with 5.1-litre engines. and Bonallack 1,100-cu.-ft. bodywork is mounted on B.T.C. Four-In-Line semi-trailers. York Shipley refrigeration equipment is powered by a Ruston Hornsby 11 h.p. oil engine.

Capon and Sons, Ltd., Vale Royal, London, N.7, have added a number of Austin 30-cwt. insulated vans to their hire fleet.

Thirty-one 2,000-gal. four-compartment all-product tankers are being delivered to the National Benzole Co., Ltd. They are stated to be the first tankers of their size to be based upon B.M.C. 7-ton chassis and will bring the number of B.M.C. 7-banners used by National Benzole to 131, the existing types being 1,500-gal. and 1,800-gal. models.

McVeigh Transport, Ltd., Hull, have bought two Leyland Super Comet articulated outfits for the distribution of petrol under contract. The semi-trailers are of Carrimore manufacture and carry Darham 3,000-gal. tanks. The tractors have air brakes, and power takc-offs are provided for the discharge of liquids other than those which must he emptied by gravity. Tate and Lyle, Ltd., have ordered 12 Guy Warriors. These will bring the company'S Guy fleet to a total of 30. One of the new vehicles, now in service, has a wheelbase of 12 ft. 1 in. and a 5.1-litre engine.

A Morris .12 pick-up which the Eccles Slag Co., Ltd., Scunthorpe, obtained from the Paragon (Hull) Motor Co., Ltd., Scunthorpe, has a Perkins Four-99 engine. There is a crew canopy behind the driving compartment, and at the rear a DixonBate towing attachment.

The latest addition to the fleet of car transporters owned by Henlys, Ltd., Euston Road, London, N.W.1, is an A.E.C. Mercury tractor with Carrimore semi-trailer. It can carry four big Jaguars and makes daily runs to the Midlands.

Repeat Order Having been supplied with a Commer 7-ton dumper by Standfield and White, Ltd.,. St. Sidwells, Exeter, Wadsworth Demolitions, Ltd.. Exeter, have placed a repeat order. Wadsworth are actively engaged upon the replanning of Exeter. The dumper has an Eaton two-speed axle, Jive-speed gearbox and a Telehoist 6-cu.yd. body with Telelever tipping gear to provide a 70-degree angle of tip.

Overseas operators continue to demand specialized types from Britain. Smith's Delivery Vehicles, Ltd., Gateshead, have negotiated through Transatlantic Engineering, London, S.W.1, an order for a number of Commuter batteryelectric dairy vans to be delivered to Planta de Productos Lacteos, San Pedro Sula, in the Honduras Republic.

Four Scammell Explorer 6 x 6 heavy recovery vehicles have been supplied to the New Zealand Army. They can surmount gradients of 25 degrees and negotiate side slopes of 15 degrees, besides being capable of wading through water 2 ft. 6 in. deep.
