1140131LE spares services for Albion, LVL Leyland and Scammell operators are being augmented. In addition to the vehicle already operated in the Midlands by Ford and Slater, Ltd., three new vehicles have been placed in service by J. H. Sparshatt and Sons (Southampton), 'Ltd. In time there will be six Sparshatt service vehicles covering southern England, parts of the Midlands and Wales.
The Sparshatt mobile depots arc based On Albion Claymore underfloor-engined chassis, and will carry spares, valued at from £2,500-£3,000, primarily for breakdowns. Bulk and stock orders can be accepted for delivery a week after receipt.
A Leyland Comet ECOS2.4R chassis forms the basis of the Ford and Slater vehicle, which has a Marshall body. The vehicle is run to a time-table. It covers southern Lincolnshire and visits the same areas on the same days of each week.
