ADEVICE to enable simulated road testing of vehicles to he done inside a workshop has been developed by Crypton Equipment, Ltd., Bridgwater, Somerset. It makes use of a pair of rollers which drive a fan, the loading on which can be adjusted to represent differing road conditions.
In addition to giving road impressions, the machine is stated to be able to measure engine power output. Electronic test equipment, including an oscilloscope which indicates ignition characteristics, is incorporated.
