Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

headed "Chunnel plans" (CM 18-24 January), we wish to advise the following points: The new agreement between Eurotunnel and Transmanche Link should not affect Railfreight Distribution's plans to operate freight trains through the Channel Tunnel.

Railfreight Distribution has announced an initial service of 27 freight trains daily in each direction, with capacity to increase as traffic develops. These plans have not been altered.

Freight trains have been planned to operate at up to 120kinili (75mph) and should not, therefore, be affected by reduction in the line speed through the tunnel.

John Hawthorne,

Promotions Manager, Railfreight Distribution.
