III Harpenden-based transport and freighting firm Star Cargo saw pre-tax profits rise to 2507,000 for the year to September 1989 — an increase of 20%. Turnover also grew by 20% to 216.6 million.
The firm has just bought Viking Shipping Services of Selby, North Yorkshire and may seek a Stock Market listing this year.
"The Viking deal opens up a northern depot for Star," says Star Cargo chairman John James.
