• Continental breakdown and recovery help is now being offered to international truck operators by AA-BRS Fleet Rescue.

The breakdown firm has joined forces with other companies throughout Europe. So far, 10 countries run the recovery scheme for UK operators, and managing director Ray Combs is confident more will follow soon.

Under the new scheme, truck operators in Europe can contact the AA-BRS Birmingham communications centre using an emergency phone number. All repair work will be invoiced in sterling to help operators avoid European VAT claims.
