DEREGULATION and competitive tendering of bus services requiring subsidy is set to provide increasing opportunities for bus operators this year. Clwyd and Suffolk County Councils are currently updating their lists of operators wishing to be included as potential tenderers. Any operator or individual interested should write to the county secretary at Clwyd County Council and the county surveyor at Suffolk County Council.

Devon County Council is holding a ser,inar on Monday, February 3, at County Hall, Exeter to introduce its policy with regard to the 1985 Transport Act. Operators and prospective operators of bus services in the county are invited to attend. For those not able to attend the county is publishing a consultation document which is obtainable from the county engineer and planning officer at County Hall.

Hertfordshire has put its first 15 routes out to tender. The services operate in the Bishops Stortford, Buntingford, Royston and Tring areas. Full details and tender forms are available from the Transport Coordination Unit at County Hall, Hertford.
