Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

RECENTLY, my son, who is leaving school this term, applied to the Road Transport Industry Training Board for details of the Young HGV Drivers scheme. He applied to at least 36 firms in the Sitringbourne/Faversham area but couldn't find one firm which uses, or was prepared to use, the scheme.

I should be grateful if you would print this letter so that any employers in the area who would like to employ youths like my son could contact me in privacy at the address below.

The scheme is a worthwhile one, but if no help is given in finding firms sympathetic to the cause, then many a good future driver could be lost. Ken Pender Sheerness Centre for the Unemployed Richmond Street Sheerness Kent ME12 2QD
