generally on the basis of the revised single fare.
Following the lead of the Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Co., Ltd., Stratford on Avon Blue Motors, Ltd., has applied for similar modifications.
The North-western Licensing Authority has reserved decision on the application of Bolton Corporation for concession fares for old-age pensioners. This would enable them to travel in the borough at a Id. miniintim fare. An application for a general increase in fares was reported in "The Commercial Motor" dated January 18.
Thirty-seven services are concerned in the application for higher fares lodged by Blackburn Corporation with the North-western Licensing Authority. In addition, five services jointly operated with Accrington Corporation and three with Darwen Corporation are affected.
Sixteen express services starting from the West Midland Traffic Area are the subject of applications for the addition of 6i per cent, to the present rates. Associated Motorways, Ltd„ Premier Travel, Ltd.,, North Western Road Car Co., Ltd., and Majestic Express Motors, Ltd., are the applicants.
