CONTRACT HIRE specialist Fraikin Truck I fire has expanded almost overnight into a giant in the K market following its acquisition of the commercial tlect division of LexTransfleet,The deal is believed to be the largest the t fK commercial vehicle sector has seen for over a decade.

According to Fraikin's UK MD John Ball, the acquisition makes up for lost time: "We're tremendously excited," he adds, "It puts Fraikin where it should be.The focus of the business was in France —this move conforms to the shareholders' strategy."

Fraikin has been in the t I K market since 1978 and has a turnover of almost tiftm.The Fraikin Group collectively operates 34,000 CVs across Belgium, France, Luxe mbourg.Spain and the UK.

The Lex Transited commercial fleet division includes 4.500 contract hire vehicles and 1.000 rental vehicles.

Ball says the company won't rule out future acquisition opportunities, He declines to disclose how much the deal was worth, but does say: "This wasn't a distress sale, We've bought a viable, profitable business; we paid an appropriate price."
