DOVER OPERATOR Mike Beer Transport boosted its pre-tax prof its and turnover in the year to January 2005. Pre-tax profits climbed to £464,012 from E394,113 the year before, on sales of £9.5m -up from £8.7m.

The next set of company results are expected to show a further rise in prof its and sales, with a projected turnover close to £10.3m.

MBT Direct, the company's pan-European express-delivery subsidiary, has already clocked a turnover of £400,000 since its launch in April.

Mike Beer Transport was named Haulier of the Year in September's Motor Transport awards.
