A study of almost 7,000 companies across 11 road transport sectors shows the warehousing sector offers an average 6.8% return on investment, compared with an overall road haulage average of 5%. Most investors are looking fora 10% return.

The courier sector follows closely behindw warehousing — it offers an average 6.7% return, just ahead of industrial and business removals (6.25%).

At the other end of the scale, the sectors with the lowest potential for investors are bulk haulage (3.5%) and cold storage (3%).

There are some well managed companies out there that can really deliver.'
