• Hundreds of drivers' jobs are expected to go at Northern Foods as the company restructures. The job losses are being blamed on the demise of the Milk Marketing Board on 1 November.
Northern Foods Transport (NFT) depots near Stratford upon Avon and Nottingham have closed with the loss of 45 jobs. More redundancies are expected in the chilled foods division.
