• The use of bullbars on trucks and off-road vehicles is to be regulated under the Construction & Use Regulations.

By 1996 the Department of Transport plans to have rules in place regulating which bars can be fitted as accessories. It will press for this to be included in an EU Directive to cover their fitting on new vehicles.
